As the summer of 2018 recedes and the rustle of autumn turns to crisp winter, the industry takes a breath. The New Year comes and with it 2019 and a change in the landscape of the Wedding World – colour is coming!

There will always be a place for pretty blush and pastels but 2019 heralds, according to many, a season of bold colours and dramatic decor.

“..expect for next year’s weddings to be awash with hues as bright as the eye can see” the Independent reports from Hamish Shepherd of Bridebook.co.uk

And with this in mind we’ve put together a few ideas inspired by our stock here at Prestige. Now, winter weather and illness has unfortunately made getting done all the intended shots for this blog impossible but we still want to put the content out there so, our images along with extra inspiration in the form of some awesome Pinterest pins are collected together on our board ‘Wedding Colours of 2019’ so have a read and then follow the link at the end!

So let’s have a look at just some of what’s coming our way!

Teal and Yellow is a combination that has come from 2018 but will probably run into the next year as well. This fresh and bright contrast of colours brings a cheerful playful feel to a setting. So many different variations of the beautiful teal shade are around and placing more than one of them together in one stylescape can create deep moody and atmospheric styling.

Burgundy and reds are in! We’re loving the idea of bringing them together with natural wood, cream, big greenery and even a touch of black! Sultry and moody, we love this blending of rich sumptuous shades that seems to resist conventional styling and emotes a wildness and earthy kind of intensity. Really versatile this style can be adapted – bring in some peach or blush pink to lighten or even some splashes of bright red and gold for a lively contrast. Very stylish and the perfect evolution of some of the rustic wedding style of 2018.

An elegant duo of navy and gold will also last into 2019 and goes equally well when partnered with deep rich greens and natural wood grain, as with classic white linens and florals, each giving a different feel to the setting.

Go big and go strong with all out colour – fuchsia pinks with sky blues and rich golds, some orange in there as well for a summer vibe that is current and fearless in its impact. Big bold florals together with coloured linens and accessories and you’ve got a wedding style that will not be forgotten!

Looking towards Autumn at the end of the season, though you could certainly bring these elements into a spring or summer wedding, and it is these lovely copper, gold and orange tones which will be making the most impact. Strong shades and metallic highlights creating a look with depth and warmth.
